Guiding Principles

Inclusiveness

A commitment to inclusiveness is fundamental to the outcomes that we at Nabni seek to promote and achieve. This includes a commitment to recognising, acknowledging and engaging a diversity of stakeholders and making processes as accessible as possible to all.

Transparency

We commit to upholding the principle of transparency in all aspects of our operations. This includes a commitment to ensuring that all relevant information is communicated in a timely manner and that grant allocation, management decisions and the rationale guiding these are effectively documented and communicated.

Partnerships

We seek to play the role of an enabler. While strive to ensure equal, mutually accountable and respectful relationships with partner civil society organisations. Our Commitments to Equitable Partnerships seek to translate our commitment to equitable partnerships into concrete, measurable actions that guide all aspects of our work.

Locally-led

We are not prescriptive in defining projects and activities but rather encourage consultation by partners with all groups to arrive at a shared understanding of challenges – including analysing the causes and drivers of violence, grievances and conflict, and in defining and prioritising potential responses and solutions to these.

Adaptive and Learning-oriented

We recognise the need for an agile approach to our work and processes and commit to being sensitive to changes in the operational context, actively seeking feedback, learning and adapting accordingly. We also seek to serve as a platform for dialogue and exchange – documenting and sharing learning and best practices from our own work.

Commitment to the Environment, Conflict Sensitivity and Sustainability

We are committed to having a positive impact on the social and natural environments through integrating these considerations into all Nabni funded interventions. We strive to support interventions which have a sustainable positive long-term impact.
